Digital Marketing was a global call till 2019, itself. Every other local or broad business was attracted towards the perks of digital marketing or we can say online marketing. 

At least this world knew, was the pandemic that turned this world upside down. 

 

And now, Digital Marketing has become a need in the business world. every other business is now marking their presence on social platforms and showcasing their company and products online.


This whole blog is divided into three-pointers i.e. PRE-COVID PHASE, COVID PHASE, POST-COVID PHASE to understand the effects of covid on digital marketing thoroughly.

PRE-COVID PHASE:


The time before this covid pandemic carried so many business opportunities out there, also about to help to all those hopeful people who were seeking for job placements. Some local businesses were flourishing at their best. Some companies were budding till then. Some were about to set up, some had just got established.


The matter of fact is, not every company was much aware and interested in calling out their business online. Specifically, the newly launched companies had a strategy of setting up their business offline first. if there was any manufacturing company, its main focus to generate sales was the traditional markets, stores and superstores. Digital or online marketing has always been a second thought to most of the business owners.


Despite the mighty success of some big fatty companies which are operating their business online like Amazon, Flipkart, ebay, Walmart, etc, most of local and small business owners were ignoring the perks of having your own online portal. Even there was a myth among the less aware people, that digital business is more time taking and requires a lot of effort. 


Digital Marketing was overall less favoured and we can totally figure this out from the subsequent behaviour towards the engagement of companies in digital marketing. 



COVID PHASE:


Listing the sequence of things that happened during this pandemic is indeed a tough road taken. From personal losses to financial losses, from losing jobs to dropped out businesses, people across the world suffered in all possible aspects.


During lockdown, the local markets were closed and it left the small and local business owners, vendors, wholesalers shattered. Especially those who did not have their company products and services online, suffered  the most. 


Apart from the medical industry, every other small and big company had to adjust according to the pandemic. Many companies had to shut down their outlets, even all the big brands had to close their outlets , restricting them to generate revenues in that time span. 

The medical industry and food and beverages manufacturers were not in that much trouble. as their supply increased even the companies which were serving the basic needs shifted their business to online mode. From serving coffees and food, to delivering medicines and groceries, the online market did all for the people. 


Most of the Clothing brands were already having their online portals, but during the pandemic, their sales increased too. People had mostly ordered even a smaller need of them online. It was just like the last option people had to meet their needs but one can not ignore the benefits of digital marketing.

 

People got all the basic needs at their doorstep as all the companies listed their products online. It was a safe option too. It prevented many local and global businesses, from facing big losses, as the market was seized for the time span. 


POST COVID:


As we all are hoping that everything gets back to its position, we can hope that markets will resume soon but Digital Marketing is not a time bounded service. It always keeps paying you back. We can hopefully see many more businesses having their online portals. It simply adds security of revenue to any business. 


The business owners can list their products and services online. This will increase their sales and brand value among the customers globally and locally both.
